There have been some changes in India’s squad for Twenty20 international (T2OI) series against Australia. Gurkeerat Singh will replace injured Ajinkya Rahane while Rishi Dhawan is set to replace Bhuvneshwar Kumar who is also nursing an injury. It is a great opportunity for both Gurkeerat and Dhawan but it will also be a test for them since India has performed very poorly in the ODI series having lost the first four games. It is imperative that India play better cricket in the T20I series which will follow the it and salvage some pride. It is a three-match series starting January 26.  Live Cricket Scorecard: India vs Australia 2015-16, 5th ODI at Sydney

In the fourth one-day, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar fractured his left-hand during fielding. Medical report confirmed the fracture. Bhuvaneshwar attempted to stop David Warner’s straight drive but injured himself in the process. Rahane too got his right-hand injured during fielding as he split a webbing and hence was ruled out for the final ODI. Both, Gurkeerat and Dhawan will be making their T20I debut if they get to play in final XI which in high probability they will. Dhawan is a right-arm medium-fast bowler who is more than a handy batsman as well. He is from Himachal Pradesh and has also played for Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab in IPl. Gurkeerat, on the other hand is an aggressive middle-order batsman from Punjab. He also bowls off-break. He impressed in Ranji Trophy 2015-16 cracking a double hundred. BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur said in a statement, “The All-India Senior Selection Committee has named Gurkeerat Singh Mann in the India T20I team as a cover up for injured Ajinkya Rahane. Rahane split his webbing on his right hand while fielding in the fourth ODI at Canberra. Meanwhile, the BCCI medical team has confirmed that Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been ruled out of India’s tour of Australia after he fractured his left-hand thumb. All-rounder Rishi Dhawan has been included in the T20I team as Bhuvneshwar’s replacement”
