Hanif Mohammad – Reports suggest Pakistan cricketer is alive

News doing the round of Pakistan's batting great Hanif Mohammad being dead are now being claimed as false after his son Shoaib Mohammad denied the earlier reports.

Pakistan’s batting great Hanif Mohammad who was considered dead half and hour ago, is now being claimed to be alive by his son Shoaib Mohammad. Speaking to a Pakistani TV channel Shoaib says that his father’s heart had stopped beating but it was again revived after 6 minutes.  Pakistani media went all over the internet condoling Hanif’s death. Soon after the news broke out few of the journalist from Pakistan cross-checked the news and stated that Hanif is still alive and was wrongly claimed to be dead.  ALSO READ: Hanif Mohammad hospitalised; Pakistan government to bear expenses

Hanif has played 55 Test for Pakistan between 1952 and 1969, averaging 43.98, also had twelve hundred to his name. Hanif was put on ventilator a week ago, after he complained of respiratory problem. Hanif had underwent operation for lung cancer in 2013 in London. The legendary Pakistan cricketer earlier said that he tried to contacted many people after his health deteriorated , but nobody responded to his call.

 

Hanif still holds the record for Pakistan’s highest individual score in an innings, which is 337. Hanif batted for 16-long hours during his knock of 337 against West Indies at Bridgetown, and still remains the longest Test innings in Tests.
