After undergoing cancer surgery in England on July 9, Hanif Mohammad has decided to delay his return back to Pakistan have chemotherapy. Mohammad was suffering from liver cancer.
His younger son Shahzeb Mohammad said, “My father has been advised to undergo chemotherapy. Dr Robert Hutchins (liver surgeon) and Professor Justin Stebbing (oncologist at London Oncology Clinic Harley Street) both think that father’s cancer is completely removed.”
“However like any cancer, there is a certain probability that it can reoccur. To prevent this, Professor Stebbing recommended adjuvant chemotherapy.
“The chemotherapy will last for six cycles. My daddy will have his first two cycles in UK. He is overwhelmed with the good wishes and inquiries from family, friends and fans from all over the world and would like to thank everyone and request all to remember him in their prayers,” he said as reported by Gulfnews.com.
Three of Mohammad’s brothers — Wazir, Mushtaq and Sadiq — also played for Pakistan, as did his son Shoaib.
