Australia player David Hussey turns 39 today. He can be termed as one of the most underrated players of his era who were unlucky. He can be called as a late-bloomer like his elder brother, Michael Hussey. David made his International debut in 2008 at an age of 30. He has an impressive First-Class record like his brother and made an impact in County cricket. David has a fantastic record in T20 cricket with 5,960 runs in 258 T20s at an average of 30.56 including one century and 31 half centuries. He has had an impressive record in domestic circuit as well. He amassed 7,476 runs for Victoria Bushrangers at Sheffield Shield level in a span of 12 years which featured four title wins. His record in the longer format of the game is commendable although he is considered more of a T20 specialist by many. David has played 69 ODIs and scored 1,796 runs at an average of 32.65 with the help of one century and 14 half centuries. In T20Is he has scored 756 runs at an average of 22.90 including three half centuries. He has also played crucial role chipping in few runs in the middle. He holds 18 and 19 wickets in ODIs and T20Is respectively.

David has been avoided fanfare in his career. He has played in Indian Premier League (IPL) as well. He has played 64 IPL matches and scored 1,322 runs including five half centuries. David started his IPL career in the inaugural season playing for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Later, he was roped in by Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in 2012. He later represented Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in 2014.
