Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) batsman and one of young talents, Manan Vohra, turns 23 today. Vohra has been associated with KXIP since 2013. He has been equally crucial part of Punjab team in domestic circuit as well. Vohra is a promising talent and is better suited batsman for the shorter version of the game. He has played 34 IPL matches so far and scored 728 runs at an average of 24.27 at a strike rate of 129.54. He started playing domestic cricket at an age of 17 and has trained under Yograj Singh, father of India’s legendary all-rounder — Yuvraj Singh. That has indded termed him as ‘an outstanding talent’. Vohra has also played for India in Under-19 World Cup. Only a few knew that he is the grandson of former India hockey player, Yogesh Pratap Singh. Vohra had a promising IPL debut as he scored unbeaten knock of 43 against Pune Warriors India (PWI) in 2013. He had the privilege to play alongside Adam Gilchrist. Vohra has played a total number of 57 Twenty20 (T20) matches and garnered 1,349 runs. However, he has also proved himself in the longer version of the game, when he scored 187 against Jharkhand.

Vohra had the best of IPL season in 2014 where he scored 324 runs in eight matches at an average of 40.50. He could be the next big thing for India in the future keeping in mind his performance in domestic as well as IPL. As Yuvraj has termed him to be ‘an outstanding talent’, there has to be something special about this budding cricketer.
