Former Zimbabwe skipper Heath Streak has resigned from his job as Bangladesh‘s bowling coach. Streak, who has been a part of the Bangladesh cricket team’s coaching staff for the past two years, resigned from the job on Thursday. Bangladesh had appointed Streak in May, 2014 and ever since, the player has been behind the success tasted by Bangladesh bowlers like Mustafizur Rahman, Al-Amin-Hossain and the others. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), who were already searching for options to replace Streak, are reported to speed up the process to find a suitable name for the vacant post. The Bangladesh board was eager to have Streak for yet another season. “We always want a settled unit for our coaching staff, so we actually wanted Streak to stay. However, if he wants to leave, we will not try to hold him back,” Akram was quoted saying earlier.

Former India bowler, Venkatesh Prasad, was offered the role. Prasad, surprised by the approach, had said, “This news comes to me as a pleasant surprise. I’ve not applied for the Bangladesh job as I always been expressing my desire to coach Team India bowlers. BCB may have expressed interest looking at my credentials as a coach. I consider myself privileged to be coaching a national team. Having said that my aspiration is to contribute to Indian cricket,” as reported by Cricbuzz.
