MS Dhoni enjoyed playing a game of football in Ranchi. After having retired from the longest format of the game after the third Test against Australia in December 2014, Dhoni has been relatively free.  Dhoni last played for India in the series against Bangladesh where India lost 1-2, which was India’s first ever series loss against their neighbours. Dhoni will continue his break as India next go to Sri Lanka to play a three Test series against Sri Lanka, which will be Kumar Sangakkara’s final series in international cricket. He now will be leading India in just the coloured clothing, the One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). While the Indian team will be gearing up for the Test tour of Sri Lanka, Dhoni used the free time to spend time with his family and playing football at a ground in Ranchi. Football is not a game he is unknown too, he started as a goal keeper in his early days.

Dhoni recently  made it to the top 10 in the list of the most marketable sportsperson of the year, 2015. According to a study conducted in the London School of Marketing, Dhoni ranks number nine in the list of famous sportspersons from around the world. The list, that is domintaed by tennis great, Roger Federer, consists of only cricketer in the the top 20 list in the form of Dhoni. The calculation was done on the basis of their earnings from their endorsements. It is interesting to see Dhoni ahead of great footballers of moder time, Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel messi and Neymar.
