India captain Virat Kohli has consolidated his spot as the No 1 batsman in ODIs, securing 15 points after his dominant performances against West Indies this month, while the No 1 bowler, Jasprit Bumrah, has achieved a career-best 841 ratings points – the best for any ODI bowler in a decade.

Kohli became the first Indian batsman to score three consecutive ODI hundreds in the West Indies series while breaking Sachin Tendulkar’s long-standing record of the quickest to 10,000 runs. Scoring 453 runs in India’s 3-1 series win has elevated Kohli to 899 points, 28 clear of team-mate Rohit Sharma at second place. Rohit scored 29 points after making 389 runs in the series, which took him to a career-best 871.

Bumrah returned to the ODI squad after being rested for the first two games with West Indies and claimed six wickets in three appearances, and is 841 ratings points are the best for an ODI bowler since Shaun Pollock in 2008. Kuldeep Yadav  is at third in rankings with a career-high 723 rating points.

Fellow Indians Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravindra Jadeja have made significant movements. Chahal has broken Ito the top ten for two first time with a jump from 11th to eighth position while Jadeja, who was Man of the Match in the fifth ODI on Friday for taking 4/33, has shot up 16 places to sit at 25th spot.

The biggest gainers in the latest shuffling of the ICC ODI rankings are the West Indies duo of Shai Hope and Shimron Hetmyer. Hope’s 250 runs in the series defeat to India moved him up 22 place to sit at 25 in the ODI batsmen table, while young Hetmyer’s returns of 259 at 51.80 vaulted him 31 spots to No 26. Hope is now the top-ranked West Indian batsman.
