The final of the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2014 would be played between South Africa and Pakistan on Saturday. While Pakistan managed to cross the line against England in their semi-final encounter, South Africa trounced Australia by 80 runs to get through. Both sides will now gear up for the next two days, setting their strategies in place.
Aiden Markram, the South African skipper admitted that his side haven’t seen much of Pakistan. “We have seen them in bits and patches. We haven’t done a lot of work on them as we have been focusing more on ourselves in this tournament. We have to do a bit of homework and see some footage,” Markram said after his side beat Australia on Wednesday.
However, Markram is wary of the strength in the Pakistan unit, “Pakistan are a very unpredictable side. On their day they can do the damage. We can’t take them lightly. It is going to be an absolutely massive game. They are a very strong side and it is going to be a challenge but we will be definitely up for it.”
Sami Aslam, the Pakistan skipper famously said the other day that his side would face whoever wins the other semi-final. Now, both sides would formulate plans for the big clash on Saturday.
