In Match 26 of the ICC World Cup Qualifier 2018, Netherlands secured the seventh spot in the points table after beating Nepal. At one point they seemed to struggle to even get the score past 100, but contributions from the middle-order took the score to 189. Nepal, in reply lost half of their side for mere 61 runs. They eventually managed to post 144, but lost the match by 45 runs.

Sompal Kami, who was the star bowler for Nepal shone with bat too. He scored 36 off 53 balls inclusive 3 fours and 1 six. Till the time he was in the middle, it seemed like Nepal was in for a nail biting finish. Roelof van der Merwe took charge for Netherlands with the ball. He ended up with figures of 10-1-20-4 including the important wicket of Paras Khadka.

Earlier in the match, Kami struck gold in the very first over dismissing Wesley Barresi for duck. He rocked Netherlands top-order picking three wickets. Bas de Leede held ground from one end scoring 39 runs in 91 balls. His two hours stay was also put to an end by Kami in the 43rd over. Kami ended up with figures 4 for 24.

Netherlands were 87 for 5 half way through the innings. Nepal failed to apply more pressure as they ended up scoring more 102 more runs in the later half.
