ICC World T20 2012: Afghanistan elect to bat against West Indies in warm-up match

Afghanistan captain Nawroz Mangal won the toss and chose to bat first against West Indies in the warm-up match at Colombo on Monday.

The West Indies have been drawn in Group B alongside Australia and Ireland and both first round matches will be at the Premadasa Stadium here.

Their opening match will be against the Aussies Saturday, Sep 22 followed by a clash with the Irish Monday, Sep 24.

Meanwhile, Afghanistan were adjudged winners of the Asia versus the Caribbean Twenty20 tournament after three teams won the same number of matches.

The win is expected to boost the confidence of the Afghan players ahead of the ICC World Twenty20 tournament starting in Sri Lanka Sep 18.
