Colombo: Sep 17, 2012

 

Afghanistan set a target of  123 runs against West Indies in the warm-up match of International Cricket Council (ICC) T20 World Cup 2012 at Colombo on Monday.

 

Earlier Afghanistan captain Nawroz Mangal won the toss and chose to bat first against West Indies in the warm-up match at Colombo on Monday.

 

The West Indies have been drawn in Group B alongside Australia and Ireland and both first round matches will be at the Premadasa Stadium here.

 

Meanwhile, Afghanistan were adjudged winners of the Asia versus the Caribbean Twenty20 tournament after three teams won the same number of matches.

 

The win is expected to boost the confidence of the Afghan players ahead of the ICC World Twenty20 tournament starting in Sri Lanka Sep 18.
