The Australian team has posted a picture on Twitter, in which Aaron Finch seems to be about to bite the toe of James Faulkner, in a bid to cheer up pace sensation Mitchell Johnson after a foot injury ruled him out of the ICC World Twenty20.
Johnson was ruled out of the tournament with a toe infection on Sunday, dealing a blow to Australia’s hopes.
According to Sport24, Cricket Australia (CA) said that Johnson cut his right big toe after the third Test win over South Africa and after infection set in, medication was unable to bring it under control.
Following this, the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Twitter account posted the following picture featuring Johnson’s teammates Finch, Faulkner, Cameron White and Glenn Maxwell along with this message: ‘Hey Mitch, hope your toe is feeling better, Pooch is hungry.’
Johnson tweeted his thanks in his Twitter reply, saying that he loves the picture and that a ‘bit of toe jam never hurt anyone’, the report added.
