Former Pakistani captain Rashid Latif has urged Pakistan to rely more on pacers instead of spinners when they face India in their ICC World Twenty20 match on March 21 at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Dhaka to break their jinx against their arch-rivals in a World Cup match.
Pakistan has never defeated India in a World Cup or World T20 match.
Latif, who is the chief selector of Pakistan, believes that although everyone can play any format of cricket but they have to select players for their T20 team who are specialists in the shortest format.
According to the Dawn, Latif said that Pakistan by now should be aware of Indian team’s combination, adding that he would go for either Sohail Tanvir or Bilawal Bhatti in place of Junaid Khan to boost batting options.
Latif further added that there is no point in trying Zulfiqar Babar against India as Pakistan already has a lot of ”options” in the spin department.
