South African all-rounder JP Duminy has said that his side has the necessary ‘armoury’ to brace themselves against a strong spin onslaught from India in the semi-final of the ICC World T20 2014 in Mirpur on Friday.
South Africa is still on a high from their performances in the group stages, particularly their convincing win against England to seal their semi-final spot, although both India and South Africa will start from zero with an opportunity for a place in the final.
According to Sport24, South Africa set about honing their skills and strategy ahead of the clash against their sub-continent rivals and Duminy said that although the clash against India will be a big challenge for them, they have the necessary weapons to put in a big performance against the Indian spinners.
Stating that they know what to expect, Duminy also said that they have played against Indian spinners a number of times and have had good success, adding that they are aware that they have to produce something good given that the match is a semi-final clash.
Leg-spinner Imran Tahir is the second-highest wicket-taker of the tournament with 11 scalps and is followed closely behind by India’s Amit Mishra, with nine, the report added.
