A month back, there was huge buzz over India‘s 500th Test and many greats of the game came up with their own all-time XI of India. Former cricketers like Sanjay Manjrekar and many other came up with their own XI of India according to their understanding and knowledge of the game. It’s been almost a month since India played it’s historic 500th Test and buzz has been over now but the same thing can be seen with Pakistan now as they played their 400th Test. The first Test of the series against West Indies at Dubai is Pakistan’s 400th Test and they become seventh team to have played this much of Tests.

On this occasion, former Pakistan pacer and coach, Waqar Younis, comes up with his all-time Pakistan XI, which includes plenty of legends a new face, which was not expected to be in this list. Waqar shared his team during the first Test between  Pakistan and West Indies while commentating. Waqar’s XI starts two legendary Pakistani openers, Hanif Mohammad and Saeed Anwar followed by Younis Khan at number three. The middle-order of the team include the likes Javed Miandad, Inzamam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Yousuf. As per Waqar, Pakistan’s World Cup winning captain Imran Khan to lead his side and then comes the most surprising name in the list in the form of Sarfraz Ahmed as wicketkeeper-batsman of the team.

No doubt over Sarfraz’s talent both as wicketkeeper and as batsman but so far, he has played only 25 Tests and 67 One-Day Internationals. Players like Moin Khan and Rashid Latif surely missed in out in this list as wicketkeeper-batsman as they have played more than Sarfraz but there must be some logic behind this young player’s inclusion in his as in recent has really impressed with his game.

Coming to bowling department, with Imran being already in the side, the bowling part include the likes of Wasim Akram, spinner Abdul Qadir and Pakistan’s fastest bowler Shoaib Akhtar. Be it batting or bowling, every department of this team looks world class with great players.

Waqar Younis’s All-time Pakistan XI: Hanif Mohammad, Saeed Anwar, Younis Khan, Javed Miandad, Inzamam-ul-Haq, Imran Khan (c), Sarfraz Ahmed (wk), Wasim Akram, Abdul Qadir, Shoaib Akhtar.

Waqar Younis is currently busy in doing commentary jobs after resigning from the post of Pakistan team’s coach after his side’s poor performance in ICC World T20 2016.
