India A play their first match of the triangular series, against Australia A, in Chennai. The Australian team has been in the venue for the last two weeks to play two unofficial Tests against the home side before this limited-overs series, which began with Australia A rushing through for a nine-wicket win against South Africa A, who have just arrived in the Indian shores. India A, in a change from their larger-format team-set, will have batsman Unmukt Chand captaining the side, as against Cheteshwar Pujara who led them in the two unofficial Tests. Those contests, fought keenly, had the visiting side coming out on top in the second game, and coupled with a draw in the first, a series victory — mentioned by their captain Khawaja as ‘big’.
