India A vs New Zealand A: R Samarth gets fifty before rain-hit draw closes out

The second four-day match between India A and New Zealand A at Hamilton’s Seddon Park has ended in a draw after rain washed out the second day and limited action on the fourth.

Karun Nair’s India A ended day three on 7/0 after New Zealand A declared on 303/7 in 106 overs, and on a rain-hit fourth day they progressed to 159/2 in 46 overs before a draw was called.

In that time, the openers Abhimanyu Easwaran (47) and Mayank Agarwal (42) put on 74 in 21 overs before Agarwal was dismissed by Central Stags pacer Blair Ticker for the third time in three innings.

R Samarth scored an unbeaten 50 from 83 balls, with seven fours and a six, and Nair was on 8 when the match ended.

The first four-day match between India A and New Zealand A was a high-scoring draw at Bay Oval. The third game is scheduled from November 30 at Cobham Oval in Whangarei before the series shifts to the one-day format, with Bay Oval hosting three games on December 7, 9 and 11.
