India have entered the record books once again. It has joined the likes of Kenya, Afghanistan and Hong Kong. All these three teams have bowled four maidens in an innings of a Twenty20 international (T20I) game. Now, India with its four maiden overs in their match against UAE of Asia Cup 2016 have joined them for the top spot. Three Indian bowlers— Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harbhajan Singh and Hardik Pandya shared the four maiden overs that were bowled. Bhuvneshwar bowled two maidens whereas Harbhajan and Pandya bowled a maiden each. Kenya had bowled four maiden overs way back in an ICC World T20 Qualifier match against Ireland. In the first T20I of Afganistan vs Kenya T20I series of 2013; Mohamad Nabi, Mirwais Ashraf and Hamid Hassan bowled maidens. Nabi bowled two while the other two bowled a maiden each. With it, Afghanistan joined Kenya for the top position in the list of teams which have taken most maidens in a T20I. Hong Kong, in a 2014 match played against Nepal bowled four maidens. Tanwir Afzal, Haseeb Amjad, Aizaz Khan and Nadeem Ahmed bowled maidens for them. Maidens in T20Is is not often seen as batsmen are always in a hurry to score runs at a quick pace. It needs to be mentioned here that India has bettered its previous best record for three maidens. In India vs England match of ICC World T20 2012, Harbhajan Singh (two) and Piyush Chawla (one) bowled maidens. Australia (in 2010), England (2010) and West Indies (2012) have also bowled three maidens.
