South Africa bowler Kyle Abbott is eager to take on India in the second Test match at Durban starting Thursday. Abbott is all set to replace the injured pacer Morne Morkel for the deciding game of the two-match series.

Abbott was included in the South African squad after Morkel sprained his ankle during the first Test against India at Johannesburg. The 26-year-old has played one Test for the top-ranked Test side and impressed with the figures of nine for 68 in the game against Pakistan.

However, during the South Africa A versus India A four-day game match earlier this year, Abbott managed only one wicket in Rustenburg when India made 582 for nine, reported Sport24.

Indian batsman Cheteshwar Pujara scored 137 in the match.

“Any bowler always hopes to get back at any batsman that once gave him a hard time,” Abbott was quoted as saying by the Volksblad website.

“It was a challenge (against India A) and I believe this will also be a good challenge. Every guy that currently plays always believes he still has a chance. Cricket is a funny thing with an opportunity often around the corner,” he added.
