India Under-19 batsman Pavan Shah has registered the highest score by an India U-19 player in youth Test matches, scoring 282 off 332 deliveries in the first innings against Sri Lanka U-19s to surpass Tanmay Srivastava’s score of 220, set in 2006 against Pakistan U-19s.
Shah’s score sits as the second highest individual score at this level. Other notable Indians to feature in the list are Gautam Gambhir (212), Cheteshwar Pujara (211) and Abhinav Mukund (205). Shah was promoted up the order in the match and came to bat in the 12th over on day one after the wicket of Anuj Rawat (11). He added 263 runs for the second wicket with centurion Atharwa Taide (177).

India are one up in the series, having won the first game by an innings and 21 runs courtesy centuries from Taide (113) and Ayush Badoni (185).
