Captain Virat Kohli blazed his away to a brilliant century – his 39th in ODIs and 24th in run chases – to lead India’s chase in the second ODI against Australia at the Adelaide Oval on Tuesday. (LIVE: India vs Australia, 2nd ODI, Adelaide Oval)
Set with a 299-run target after Australia elected to bat, Kohli, who has scored his second century on the tour after smashing 123 in the second Test at the Optus Stadium in Perth, entered after the dismissal of Rohit Sharma (43). Kohli, who reached his hundred after tucking a back of a length delivery off Peter Siddle to the deep square leg fielder for two runs, reached his hundred in 108 deliveries – an innings laced with five boundaries and two sixes.
The swashbuckling batsman’s imperious knock garnered many praises on Twitter. Here are a few:

We saw the great Sir Viv/Sachin, we saw the destructive Lloyd/Adam Gilchrist/, we saw the finisher in Hussey/Bevan/Dhoni, but in terms of pure control/command of ODI batting,@imVkohli in league of his own! #INDvsAUS
