India would have been cursing their stars having limited Australia to a below par total in the second T20I in Melbourne in their bid to level the three-match series. However, rain put paid to their chances as the match was washed out with India still trailing 0-1.
Australia would have heaved a sigh of relief as they cannot lose the series now but still have a chance to clinch it when they face the tourists for one last time in Sydney on Sunday.
For all the criticism that Australia have had to face, they are the ones ahead in the three-match T20I series. Their under-fire batting came to the party in Brisbane with Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis justifying their giving India an early wake-up call. For the visitors, the call worked well as the bowlers pulled things back in Melbourne before rain robbed them an opportunity to level the series.
