Bangladesh Women asked India Women to chase down a paltry target of 156 runs, which the latter obliged with ease.  Playing their second match of the Super Six round in the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier 2017, India batted with complete ease to bring up their sixth successive win. Mithali Raj and Mona Meshram ensured  the chase was a cakewalk for India over their opponents. Bangladesh’s bowling looked hapless and uninspiring in the middle to cause any trouble to the Indian batswomen. Mithali assumed the more aggressive role, while Mona continued to anchor the innings from one end of the pitch to hand India a 9-wicket win.

India opened with Deepti Sharma and  Meshram, where the pair added 22 runs for the first wicket. Khadija Tul Kubra, who was having a poor tournament so far, caught hold of a simple catch and bowl as Deepti departed for 22-ball 3. Indian skipper Mithali came out in the middle and provided much needed momentum to the innings. With Mithali  collecting runs from one end,  Meshram  also opened up her arms.  Match Updates, India vs Bangladesh, ICC Women World Cup Qualifier 2017, Super Six

Mithali’s solitary six was also the winning shot for India as they romped past Bangladesh by 9 wickets.  As far as Bangladesh  areconcerned, Khadija was the best bowler picking up 1 for 37.
