MS Dhoni joined the likes of Kieron Pollard, Brendon McCullum, Chris Gayle, Shoaib Malik and Dwayne Bravo amongst others as he became the first Indian to play 300 T20s when India squared off against Kane Williamson-led New Zealand in the third and final T20 of the series at the Seddon Park in Hamilton on Sunday. (Follow LIVE Updates: India vs New Zealand, 3rd T20I)

Dhoni, who has represented India in 95 T20Is thus far, has played for Chennai Super Kings and Rising Pune Supergiant in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and now defunct Champions League Twenty20, and played for Jharkhand in the domestic cricket in India. While as a former India captain Dhoni has won an ICC World Twenty20 Championship in 2007, he has led CSK to three IPL triumphs and two Champions League Twenty20 titles. (ALSO READ: We have made up our minds for World Cup core team: MSK Prasad)

So far, Dhoni has scored 6136 runs and remained unbeaten on 189 times across 269 innings. While he has not scored a T20 ton, he has as many as 24 fifties and 158 catches and 78 stumpings against his name. (ALSO READ: Wonderful sight: Change of symbolic baton from master Dhoni to protege Pant)

While Pollard, with 446 T20s, tops the list of players with the most number of T20 games, Dhoni, along with England’s Luke Wright, have played 300 games. Chris Gayle, who holds the record of most number of T20 runs (12298), has played 369 T20s. Rohit Sharma has played 298 T20s while Suresh Raina has 296 T20s against his name.
