India and New Zealand have not played each other yet in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 after their league match was washed out without a ball being bowled at Trent Bridge, Nottingham on June 13, during a week which saw many number of matches affected by rain.
But, with India set to take on New Zealand in the first semi-final at Old Trafford Manchester, the weather forecast for Manchester seems to have become the talking point. Many reports suggest that it will rain and and some have gone to the extent of stating there is a chance of total abandonment on match day and even on reserve day and India might make it to the finals without playing the semis.
Well, imaginations running wild for sure; because, there is absolutely no chance of rain affecting the match on both the match day and the reserve day. On Tuesday, i.e, July 9, from 9:00 am (BST) to 11:00 pm (BST) there is no clear forecast of rain and the chances of of precipitation is not more than 20 per cent. That too, for the initial couple of hours. After that, the chances go down to below 5 per cent.
A full game will in all probability occur and even if rain interrupts play, it is not going to affect the game in any manner whatsoever. Even though on the reserve day, i.e. July 10, Wednesday, the chances of precipitation goes as high as 40 per cent, it is fair to conclude that chances of the match going in to the reserve day is close to nil.
