India lost to Pakistan 3-4 during the second semi-final of Hockey Champions Trophy 2014. The match was fought closely and had many interesting moments. India were the first to score in the first quarter. Pakistan equalized early in the second quarter. They then went ahead early in the third quarter, but India fought back to equalize. Pakistan went ahead once again, and India equalized again. With two minutes left in the game, Pakistan struck the final blow to go ahead.
India headed into the contest with pleasant memories of beating Pakistan in the Incheon Asian Games final in October to lift the men’s hockey gold after 16 years. However, they did not end the match pleasantly.
