Local boy Shikhar Dhawan looked in ominous touch before he looked to sweep Dilruwan Perera out of the attack in the first session of the third Test between India and Sri Lanka at Delhi. He found the palms of a sprinting Suranga Lakmal. Dilruwan had both his arms up in the air. The depleted Sri Lankan side had something to cheer for. Perera had broken a Sri Lankan record for Muttiah Muralitharan. He became the fastest Sri Lankan, in terms of matches, to 100 Test wickets.

Muralitharan rules most of the bowling records and therefore to go past him is an achievement for any bowler. Fellow off-spinner Perera, 35, has registered the feat in his 25th Test.
