Statistical highlights of the Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Chennai.

 

# Suresh Raina has become the first batsman to aggregate 2000 runs or more in the IPL, totalling 2010 at an average of 34.06 in 72 matches. His tally included 13 fifties.

 

# Raina’s brilliant 44 off 34 balls is his highest in nine innings for Chennai Super Kings in the present competition.

 

# Gautam Gambhir‘s match-winning 63 off 52 balls is his 14th half-century in the IPL. He has become the fourth batsman to record 14 innings of 50 or more in the IPL, joining Shaun Marsh, Jacques Kallis and Virender Sehwag.

 

# Gambhir took his runs’ tally in the IPL to 1840 (average 34.07) in 64 matches, eclipsing Sachin Tendulkar’s aggregate of 1817 (average 38.65) in 56 matches. Only Suresh Raina (2010) has amassed more runs than Gambhir in the IPL history.

 

# Chris Gayle, Virender Sehwag and Gambhir are the three batsmen to have recorded four fifties in the IPL 5.

 

# Suresh Raina, with 197 runs (average 21.88) in nine innings, is the second highest after Plessis (334) for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 5.

 

# With 12 wickets at 12.91 runs apiece in seven matches, Sunil Narine is the top wicket-taker for Kolkata in the IPL 5 # Debabrata Das has received his first Man of the Match award in the IPL.

 

# Kolkata Knight Riders’ five-wicket win is their third (lost five out of eight contested) against Chennai in the IPL – winning per centage 37.50.

 

# The Knight Riders became the second side after Delhi Daredevils (7) to register six wins or more in the IPL 5.

 

# With their consistent performance in the IPL 5, Kolkata’s winning per centage of 47.65 is their best ever in the IPL overall.
