Australian pacer Mitchell Johnson was purchased by the Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction 2014 for Rs 6.50 crore.

It was surprising for many that Johnson’s previous franchise Mumbai Indians did not use their Right to Match for the left-arm pacer.

Johnson played for Mumbai Indians in the sixth edition of IPL, which also marked his revival.

A few days ago,  Johnson was conferred with Australian Cricket’s highest individual honour, the Allan Border medal for his outstanding achievements during the recently concluded Ashes series at home.
