The city police busted a cricket betting racket and arrested two businessmen from whom Rs 32,700 was seized, along with other betting communication equipment, police sources said in Hyderabad on Tuesday.
Sleuths of the Commissioner’s Task Force (East Zone Team) nabbed Damodhar Das Bung and Gopal Bung from a location here for allegedly accepting cricket bets from known punters for the IPL 7 match between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders played at Sardar Patel Stadium in Ahmedabad, sources said.
On interrogation, Damodhar revealed that he was in this business since two years, the police said, adding that besides Rs 32,700 in cash, seven mobile phones and a television set were among other equipment seized from them.
Further investigations were on, sources said.
