The two new teams that have been introduced for the next two editions of IPL, that is IPL 2016 and IPL 2017, are franchises based out of Rajkot and Pune. The team from Rajkot has been christened Gujarat Lions (GL) while the team from Pune will be called Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS). Both these teams have already picked five players each beforehand. Gujarat Lions have selected Suresh Raina, who will also captain the side, Ravindra Jadeja, James Faulkner, Dwayne Bravo, and Brendon McCullum. On the other hand the Rising Pune Supergiants team have MS Dhoni as captain, with Ravichandran Ashwin, Ajinkya Rahane, Steven Smith, and Faf du Plessis in the side as well.
