The ninth season of Indian Premier League (IPL) will begin from April 9 which will end on May 29, will see eight team fight it out for IPL 2016 glory.

Apart from these the usual teams include Delhi Daredevils, Mumbai Indians, Kings XI Punjab, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore. The match will be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on April 9, at 8.00 PM IST, with Mumbai Indians taking on Rising Pune Supergiants. The final of IPL 2016 will take place on May 29 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Newly brought Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Gujarat Lions will be skippered by Suresh Raina with former Australian batsman Brad Hodge acting as coach of the Rajkot-based outfit which also has former New Zealand skipper Brendon McCullum, Ravindra Jadeja, Australian James Faulkner and West Indian Dwayne Bravo in their side.

Former India skipper Rahul Dravid had been announced as Delhi Daredevils’ (DD) new mentor for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season with recently retired Indian fast bowler Zaheer Khan acting leading the side. DD comprises of Chris Morris,Quinton de Kock, JP Duminy, Imran Tahir, Amit Mishra and the tall hard-hitting Carlos Brathwaite, who won West Indies the T20 World Cup 2016 in emphatic manner.
