During the post match ceremony, Raina credited the opening stand for this convincing victory and said, “I think Smithy (Dwayne Smith) and Ishan gave us the platform and later me and DK had a good partnership. 185 was still chaseable. The wicket got brilliant later on. It was all about the partnership that we had till the 6th over. The way Smithy and Ishan set up the platform. Still I think Sandy and Mohit bowled pretty well but we rotated the strike as well.”

Raina also spoke about the crucial yet regular partnerships during the match and added, We had a good partnership after the 6th over. When you are chasing 190, it has to be a good start. We had a good partnership after 6th over. It is very important how you play between 7th to 13th over when you are chasing 190.”

In the end, Raina expressed his opinions on pacers in this season of IPL and said, “Too many injuries but I am sure youngsters have learnt from their mistakes. It is not easy to come and bowl yorkers in IPL but I am sure they will learn from this season.”

This was GL’s fourth win in the tournament from 12 matches and their next encounter will be against Delhi Daredevils (DD) on Wednesday at Kanpur. That will be also the first match at Kanpur in this edition of IPL.
