Delhi Daredevils have released big names Gautam Gambhir, Glenn Maxwell, Mohammad Shami and Dan Christian ahead of the IPL 2019 Auction to be held on December 17 later this year.
DD, who finished at the bottom of the table in IPL 2018 manage five victories from their 14 matches, have however, retained young guns Shreyas Iyer, Prithvi Shaw, Rishabh Pant and experienced T20 players in Colin Munro, Chris Morris and Trent Boult.
They had also added Shikhar Dhawan to the squad, trading the opener for Vijay Shankar, Shahbhaz Nadeem and Abhishek Sharma, with Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Dhawan, who played for DD in the first season when he notched 340 runs in 14 matches is reportedly unhappy with SRH after his price last season went below expectations during the IPL Players’ Auction.
