Kolkata Knight Riders stormed to an emphatic seven wicket win after their opening pair of Chris Lynn and Sunil Narine ran roughshod over Rajasthan Royals in chase. Lynn and Narine added 91 in 8.2 overs, playing an array of attacking strokes to take Rajasthan bowlers to the cleaners. By the time both departed, KKR required just 26 runs off almost nine overs and Robin Uthappa and Shubman Gill comfortably wiped off the remaining runs with 37 balls left. (READ: Match Highlights)
After Steve Smith‘s unbeaten half-century had steered Rajasthan to 139 for 3, KKR were off the blocks in a jiffy. Lynn recorded his seventh IPL half-century, while Narine, batting in his usual brazen manner, smacked six boundaries and three sixes to take Rajasthan bowlers to the cleaners. After Lynn took a couple of boundaries off Dhawal Kulkarni to get KKR off and running, Narine’s assault on Krishnappa Gowtham – in which the offspinner conceded 22 runs – laid the platform.
