Barresi continues on his merry way with two more sixes. It seems with modern day bats thwacking sixes has become an easy job.

Tom Cooper eying the mid-wicket region every-time. He finds it middle of the bat once to send it soaring over the boundary boards for a six.

OUT! P Borren 31(15)

The experienced campaigner, Tim Murtagh is into the attack. He can bowl metronomic line and length, but this is going to be a tough task for even for the Middlesex seamer. He too is getting thumped by the one and only Myburgh.

Myburgh has touched celestial heights in terms of batsmanship. He smashes three more sixes.

With his horizontal arc of the willow, Borren thwacks yet another six. It is raining sixes. Myburgh too wallops it to the boundary boards at the speed of red-lightning.

A run out chance to send Poynter back to the pavilion, but both Malik, the bowler and the wicketkeeper, Barresi miss the run out chance. Ireland then get a bit of Irish luck as a thick outside edge runs to the boundary for a four. Finally, Poynter gets out on the last ball of their innings for a fine knock of 57.
OUT! A Poynter 57(38)

O’Brien with his amazing bat speed and more so, a great piece of willow is just smashing Netherlands to smithereens.  He stands and admires a six walloped straight down the ground which bordered on the outer limits of sheer arrogance.

Malik trying to bowl from around the wicket. Both batsmen now have to change their thought process. Malik showing some superman-like skills of his own bowling to stop Ireland taking a single. A terrific over from him.

Netherlands bowlers not helping themselves by bowling on Poynter’s pads. The right-handed batsman just using the pace off the ball to send the ball rocketing towards the boundary boards. O’Brien matches him shot for shot with a six.

Ed Joyce looking to steady the ship after Porterfield lost his wicket.

It is up to Ed Joyce to carry the momentum forward.

Porterfield, who was batting beautifully tries one shot too many and his timber goes for a walk in the park. Jamil celebrates the wicket of Ireland captain.
OUT! W Porterfield 47(36)

Porterfield using the depth of the crease to find gaps with chronometric precision. His innings has been akin to a master painter at work.

Joyce tries to match his partner but only gets the toe end of the bat. Thankfully for him, Malik puts down the catch at the long-on region. He though, with his dexterous wrists places it deftly to essay a fine boundary through the off-side to finish the over.

Porterfield, this time around plays smartly through the on-side for yet another boundary. He is in the mood to to give a batting clinic with his wide range of shots.
