India allrounder Irfan Pathan has given a befitting reply to Pakistan’s Abdul Razzaq and urged fans to not take the former international seriously.

Razzaq, on Wednesday, had claimed he wouldn’t have any difficulty in facing India’s spearhead Jasprit Bumrah as he had faced better quality seamers than Bumrah during his playing career.

After Bumrah, Razzaq also targeted India captain Virat Kohli. “Look at Virat Kohli when he scores he scores. Yeah, he is a good player for them and is performing consistently, but I don’t place him in the same class as Sachin Tendulkar, who was a different class altogether,” Razaqq told Cricket Pakistan.

“After having faced the world-class bowlers in my time, I would have had no problem against a bowler like Bumrah. The pressure would have been on him,” had quoted Razaaq as saying. “I have played against great bowlers like Glenn Mcgrath and Wasim Akram. So Bumrah is a baby bowler in front of me and I could have easily dominated and attacked him.”

Pathan in a tweet subtly took a dig at Razzaq, recalled Javed Miandad’s old jibe. “Your Irfan Pathans are in every gully and mohalla (side streets) of Pakistan. We don’t even bother to look at them,” Miandad had said in 2004.

Quoting that statement, Pathan has subtly shut down Razzaq. “Irfan jese bowlers hamari gali gali mein paae jate hay” par jab jab ye galli bowler inke samne khela har baar inki gilliyan nikal ke rakh di. Request to all fans not to pay any heat to those unnecessary over the top statements. Just read and 😃….” he tweeted on Thursday.
