Ishant, who had missed out of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 due to fitness issues, ran through the top-0rder to reduce them to a score of 10 for five at one stage, before Varun Aaron joined the carnage. The Indians gained a lead of 230 after having posted a total of 351 earlier in the match. READ: Ishant Sharma takes five wickets; India lead by 230 runs

Well bowled, Ishant Sharma. 5-for in just 3.3 overs. Incredible…even if it’s in a warmup game. Augurs well for the Test series.

Rohit Sharma and skipper Virat Kohli went on to open the Indian innings following SLBP XI’s sub-par batting performance. The visitors were off to a shoddy start, losing their first three wickets with just 28 runs on board in just the first 10 overs. India face Sri Lanka in the first Test on August 12 at Galle.
