Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Mumbai Indians’ (MI) pacer Jasprit Bumrah bowled fire with the ball on April 27, as his team secured a comfortable 54-run victory over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Wankhede Stadium. Bumrah made a figure of 4/22 in his four overs, helping MI secured their fifth consecutive victory in the ongoing season.
After this spell, Jasprit Bumrah secured a massive all-time record for Mumbai Indians, which was held by Sri Lankan legend Lasith Malinga. Bumrah reached a wicket tally of 174, overcoming the record total of 170 by Malinga- becoming the highest wicket taker for MI in the IPL.
The Indian superstar pacer now has 171 wickets an average of 22.64 at an economy of 7.31 in 139 IPL matches, whereas Malinga is right behind him with 170 wickets in 122 IPL matches at an economy of 7.14 and averaging at 19.79.
It was the in-form LSG opener Aiden Markram who became 171st victim of Jasprit Bumrah’s deadly bowling. Even though it was not the best bowling show by Bumrah, it was enough for him to secure the record on his name.
