Jhulan Goswami, spearhead of Indian Women, created yet another record in Women’s One-Day Internationals (WODIs). In the ongoing Women’s Quadrangular Series match between India Women and South Africa Women at North-West University No. 1 Ground, Potchefstroom, Jhulan became the leading wicket-taker in women’s ODIs. Prior to this match, Jhulan was 3 wickets short of going past Cathryn Fitzpatrick’s 180 WODI wickets. Jhulan went past Cathryn’s tally with the wickets of Nadine de Klerk, Masabata Klaas, and Raisibe Ntozakhe. However, while Cathryn has taken only 109 ODIs for her 180 wickets, Jhulan has achieved the record in her 153rd match.

Jhulan has an excellent ability to get extra bounce. She is a decent hand with the bat too. She had also led India, and with Mithali Raj, form the bridge between two generations of Indian female cricketers. At a good height of 5’11”, Jhulan can bowl regularly at 120 kph. Her 3 for 20 today helped India Women bowl out South Africa Women for at a mere 119.
