Karun Nair plays a gem of an innings as his unbeaten 83 helps Delhi Daredevils (DD) beat Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by six wickets in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2016 and therefore stay alive in the competition. Despite this win, DD remain in the sixth position with 14 points and all teams from third to sixth have the same points. SRH on the other hand remain well on top of the table with 16 points and one game to go. They still have a chance of finishing top of the table, depending on how some of the other matches go. SRH had set DD a target of 159, with David Warner top-scoring with 73. FULL CRICKET SCORECARD, Delhi Daredevils vs Sunrisers Hyderabad, IPL 2016, Match 52 at Raipur

DD’s chase did not get off to the best of starts as they lost Quinton de Kock early. Karun and Rishabh Pant put on 73 runs for the second wicket, but Pant was run out by Bhuvneshwar Kumar, which slowed the run rate a bit. JP Duminy tried his best to get going, but managed to get only 17. Carlos Brathwaite had a field day with ball in hand, but was dismissed for a 7-ball 10. Sanju Samson came in at No. 6 and was there till the end. Nair however managed to soak in all the pressure and guide his team home. DD needed 11 off the final over. In the first innings, Warner scores crucial half-century for SRH , which takes them to a good score of 158 for 7. Warner and Dhawan got SRH off to a good start, with Warner doing the bulk of the scoring. Dhawan was dismissed due to some excellent fielding from Carlos Brathwaite, who dismissed Dhawan at the non-striker’s end. To everyone’s surprise, it was Deepak Hooda, who walked in at No. 3. He did not last long at the crease as he was also run out after some excellent fielding from Amit Mishra off his own bowling.

Yuvraj Singh was dismissed for just 10 as an inside edge off Brathwaite cut his innings short. There was a decent partnership between Moises Henriques and Warner, but Henriques tried to take JP Duminy on and his slog sweep went straight into the hands of Pawan Negi in the deep. Warner looked more dangeroud after scoring a fifty, but DD will think that they picked him up just at the right time. He mistimed a cut from Brathwaite and the ball went straight down the throat of third man.

SRH continued losing wickets at regular interval as Eoin Morgan was the next to go as he skied one straight into the hands of long on. Naman Ojha and Bhuvneshwar Kumar tried to get a move on and the duo added 26 runs for the seventh wicket, which could turn out to be crucial.

Earlier, DD had won the toss and elected to bowl first. Both teams made a few changes to their playing XI. DD roped in Brathwaite in place of Chris Morris, who apparently has a slight niggle. Pawan Negi returned in place of Shreyas Iyer and finally Shahbaz Nadeem was replaced by Jayant Yadav. For SRH, the injured Ashish Nehra was replaced by Barinder Sran and Morgan came into the playing XI in place of Ben Cutting
