London: Former England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) boss Lord MacLaurin has endorsed the move not to include Kevin Pietersen in the national squad, saying he was never a ‘ team-man ‘. The BBC quoted MacLaurin, as saying that Pietersen had not shown the trust which a person needs to run a team. The maverick South Africa-born batsman was sacked from the England team following the 2014-15 tour of Australia amid accusations of being “detached from the team”, as the visitors suffered a humiliating 5-0 defeat. McLaurin was also critical of Pietersen’s form during the 2014-15 Ashes despite being England’s top scorer in that series.
