England all-rounder Paul Collingwood is out of the fourth Indian Premier League.

Collingwood, who was snapped up by Rajasthan Royals for IPL 2011, will undergo surgery for a damaged cartilage in his right knee next week and won’t recover in time to participate in the cash-rich league.

It may be mentioned here that Collingwood endured a poor World Cup and was dropped from the playing eleven after playing just four games during the marquee tournament.
