Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) take on Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014 at Bangalore. Kolkata qualified directly to the final with a win over Punjab in the qualifiers and on the other hand Punjab play another qualifier and beat Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to make it through to the finals. Kolkata had a slow start to their campaign but have made a sensational comeback by winning 8 matches on the trot. They are the only side with Mumbai Indians (MI) to beat Punjab twice this season. Kolkata have a strong bowling attack with Sunil Narine and Morne Morkel leading them. Piyush Chawla will be key for them against Punjab. Gautam Gambhir and Robin Uthappa have fired at the top of the order for Kolkata and will be looking to do the same today in the final. Punjab have been the most consistent side in the IPL this year. They have lost only four games and will be looking to lift their first IPL. After the first edition, this is the first time they have made it to the knockout stages. With an explosive batting line-up they will hoping they can register a high score this time. Their bowling line-up is inexperienced but it is led by Mitchell Johnson, who before this tournament was in great form.
