Former Pakistan Cricketer Basit Ali has suggested that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to appoint Sarfaraz Ahmed as the mentor of Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025, especially for the clash against India. India vs Pakistan match is going to be held at February 23 at Dubai International Stadium in Dubai.
Team India will play their Champions Trophy2025 matches in Dubai because of security reasons. India and Pakistan were the finalists of the last edition of Champions Trophy, where the Men in Green registered a dominating win against MS Dhoni’s side. Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Sarfaraz Ahmed captained Pakistan’s team to victory in that clash.
“Afghanistan appointed the great Younis Khan as mentor, who is a good choice. People in Pakistan must be sleeping, so is the board. They need a mentor against India, someone who won you the Champions Trophy the last time: Sarfaraz Ahmed,” Basit said on his official YouTube channel.
“In this match, Sarfaraz’s suggestions will work. He has the experience of lifting the trophy against them. I won’t take anyone else’s name. He led the team to victory,” he further added.
