Hello and Welcome to CricketCountry’s live blog for the second Test in the 2016-17 Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh series, at Colombo. This is the final Test of the two-match series and you will get all the live scores and updates from the match here. The match is being played at the P Sara Oval in Colombo. Sri Lanka have gained an unassailable 1-0 lead after winning the first Test at Galle by a massive margin of 259 runs. This Test presents a perfect opportunity for Rangana Herath to win his second Test series as captain of Sri Lanka. On the other hand, Mushfiqur Rahim’s side looked determined on Day One to make their 100th Test memorable. Full Cricket Scorecard: Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka, 2nd Test at Colombo

Bangladesh bowlers had a dream start, reducing Sri Lanka to 70 for 4 by lunch, but Dinesh Chandimal played a lone hand on Day One and took his side to a decent score of 238 for 7. At stumps, he was unbeaten on 86 along with Herath, who was on 18. Chandimal braved all odds to get to his 12th Test fifty. He took on the bowlers with some luck going his way and scripted a Sri Lankan comeback after the hosts were at one stage tottering at 70 for 4. He found able allies, in Dhananjaya de Silva and Niroshan Dickwella, both of whom scored 34, and then in Herath, with whom he was involved in an unbroken 43-run eighth wicket stand. For Bangladesh, Mustafizur Rahman and Mehedi Hasan Miraz took two wickets each while Subashis Roy, Shakib Al Hasan and Taijul Islam got one apiece. Bangladesh did well in the field on the first day, with their bowlers being right on money for most part of the game. Their fielders took some sharp catches. Chandimal plays lone hand as SL end Day 1 of 2nd Test vs BAN at 238 for 7

With Day 1 witnessing the honours being shared, Day Two is going to be exciting. Sri Lanka’s record at P Sara Oval stands at 9 wins and 6 losses from 19 matches. Bangladesh, meanwhile, have a poor record at the ground, having lost all 3 Tests they have featured in. They would hope the 100th Test turns out special and they change this record.
