Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live cricket blog of the Group A match in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2015-16 between Delhi and Haryana. It’s day two and Delhi come out to bat with both their openers on crease. A Virender Sehwag led Haryana put up a low total of 195 against Delhi on day one. Winning the toss, Delhi decide to field first. While facing the skilful bowling and intelligent captaincy by Gambhir, the Haryana batting line up seemed uncomfortable and wickets kept falling in regular interval. Opener Rahul Dewan left after facing 18 balls only while other opener Chaitanya Bishnoi stayed in the crease for long but could not score much. A surprising turn over came from Haryana’s way as tail-ender Jayant Yadav emerged as the most run scorer from the side. The skipper contributed 37 runs hitting 5 fours in his inning . From the Delhi brigade, it was their hero of previous match Manan Sharma who credited himself a fifer maintaining an economy of 2.09 while Ishant Sharma took a couple in his 12 overs. Parvinder Awana and Milind Kumar got a wicket each. Delhi skipper Gautam Gambhir and opener Unmukt Chand are in the crease with 13 and 9 runs respectively. Delhi is currently on 22 without losing any wicket.
While Haryana have not been able to win a match yet, Delhi has been in terrific form this season currently having won against Vidarbha. Winning one and having drawn the other of the two matches that they have played, Delhi is currently brimming with confidence as both their captain and star batsman Gambhir and leader of bowling attack Ishant Sharma are in great touch with bat and ball respectively.

Haryana fans would be hoping that Sehwag reaches his fifty in the first hour itself tomorrow morning. HJ Rana is giving good support to Sehwag at the other end.

It’s not a coincidence, they have to make sure that they make their bat contact every ball which is directed towards their stumps. Virender Sehwag hits two more fours and takes his score to 21, Haryana should be hopeful.

Haryana fans would be hoping that Virender Sehwag who was unlucky and got run out after scoring a quick 37 in the first innings will come out better in the second innings.

Although it does appear that their tail will take them beyond 200 but still it has to be understood that their batters have not done justice to their abilities. Credit should also be given to Haryana bowlers and HV Patel in particular to have brought them back into the match.

Yogesh Nagar comes to the middle and cracks a four on the first ball he faces. Delhi are trailing by 46 runs. Delhi’s lower batters have to bat well if they wish to give a lead of around 100 to Haryana when it comes to bat in the second innings.
