Both GL and KKR are coming off defeats — each at the hands of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) — so the confidence will not be at an all-time high. KKR’s confidence will be relatively less dented, given that RCB chased down their total by 9 wickets. GL were less lucky; they were obliterated by 144 runs. Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers were the protagonists of both those matches, so the bruising suffered by both sets of bowlers were be of a similar shade. Rather than focusing on what went wrong, KKR should look at the positives. Gautam Gambhir and Manish Pandey, who were in slightly indifferent form over the last few matches for KKR, regained touch with respective half-centuries. Andre Russell too brought out the big hits to score 39 off 19 balls with 2 fours and 3 sixes. Meanwhile, Sunil Narine finished with figures of 1 for 34 in 4 overs — given the carnage at the other end these were respectable figures. Sadly for GL, they have far fewer positives to gain from their last match.
