Lot of drama associated with the final wicket as the original appeal was for leg-before. While the umpire declare it out, Glenn Maxwell ran out James Anderson and the TV replays show the England tail-ender was gone. Some think should have been a dead ball, but nevertheless, the players shake hands and walk off the field. Australia start the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 with a big win. Aaron Finch has been named Man of the Match for his innings of 135 off 128 balls. Here is the final report of the match from Pramod Ananth, with Australia beating England by 111 runs at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
England 231 in Overs 41.5: Couple of nervous moments for England as Taylor gets a run off a leg bye and then Josh Hazlewood raps the batsmen in front of the wickets. Australia believe it’s all over now. But the review taken by the batsman shows the ball was missing the leg stump. But, there is twist in the tale as James Anderson is RUN OUT! TV replays show Anderson is out and after a lot of discussion, it’s over. Australia win by 111 runs! BATTING: James Taylor 98 (90)
OUT! James Anderson run out 8 (11)
England 225/9 in Overs 41: Brad Haddin does extremely well to protect a boundary from James Anderson as the ball had taken an inside edge. Anderson gets a four on the second last ball as he opens up the bat at the last moment and ball goes towards third man area. England add four runs to the total. BATTING: James Taylor 94 (86), James Anderson 7 (10)
England 221/9 in Overs 40: Mitchell Johnson continues as James Taylor is looking to play only the attacking strokes and not rotate the strike. A comparatively quiet over as England manage only three runs off Johnson’s eighth over. BATTING: James Taylor 94 (86), James Anderson 3 (4)
England 218/9 in Overs 39: Fantastic batting this by the little man James Taylor. He hits Mitchell Starc for a four over the wicketkeeper with an upper cut, and gets a boundary on the final ball with an edge that was very, very close to the wickets. England still need 125 runs from 11 overs. BATTING: James Taylor 92 (81), James Anderson 2 (3)
England 205/9 in Overs 38: England bring up their 200-run mark in the 38th over of their chase. James Anderson is the last man in with James Taylor waging a lone battle from the other end. The final ball of the over is hit for a boundary past point. BATTING: James Taylor 80 (76), James Anderson 1 (2)
England 195/9 in Overs 37.1: Poor Steven Finn has been surprised with a bouncer and he fails to keep it down, and Mitchell Johnson takes a simple return catch to help Australia inch closer to a big win here. BATTING: James Taylor 76 (73),
OUT! Steven Finn c&b Mitchell Johnson 1 (6)
England 195/8 in Overs 37: Mitchell Starc continues from around the wicket against the right-hander Steven Finn and beats him on a couple of occasions. Finn does well to take a single off the final ball. One run and a wicket from Starc’s over. BATTING: James Taylor 76 (73), Steven Finn 1 (5)
England 194/8 in Overs 36.1: There it is! Australian fans will be certainly delighted as Mitchell Starc has cleaned up Stuart Broad on the first ball as England lose their eighth wicket. It was a fantastic in-swinging yorker as Broad failed to connect and was cleaned up. BATTING: James Taylor 76 (73),
OUT! Stuart Broad b Mitchell Starc 0 (1)
England 194/7 in Overs 36: Chris Woakes may have fallen but James Taylor is playing a dream innings here. He strikes two boundaries against Mitchell Johnson to take England closer to 200-run mark. BATTING: James Taylor 76 (73), Stuart Broad 0 (0)
England 184/7 in Overs 35.2: Mitchell Johnson strikes as he has removed Chris Woakes! England lose their seventh wicket! Woakes tries to clear the infield but ended up mistiming, and Steven Smith takes a clean catch. BATTING: James Taylor 66 (69),
OUT! Chris Woakes c Steven Smith b Mitchell Johnson 37 (42)

England 184/6 in Overs 35: James Taylor strikes a straight six over the bowler’s head as Starc comes onto bowl the 35th over. The partnership is of 92 runs now and England would be aiming for a turnaround here. BATTING: James Taylor 66 (69), Chris Woakes 37 (40)
England 176/6 in Overs 34: What a shot! James Taylor hits six with a flick over the leg side as he brings up his half-century. It has been a patient knock from the England batsman, who, on the fourth ball, dances down the track to hit over the infield as the batting powerplay is on. BATTING: James Taylor 59 (65), Chris Woakes 36 (39)
England 163/6 in Overs 33: The partnership for the seventh wicket between James Taylor and Chris Woakes is of more than 70 runs now. Shane Watson comes on to bowl the 35th over after the drinks break. Four runs scored. England now need 180 runs from the remaining 17 overs. BATTING: James Taylor 47 (60), Chris Woakes 35 (37)
England 159/6 in Overs 32: Mitchell Marsh is back into the attack as he has three overs left in the innings. Another chance? Woakes plays it straight to the fielder at short extra cover and the ball drops short. Australia trying to pull back things, only two runs given. BATTING: James Taylor 46 (59), Chris Woakes 32 (32)
England 157/6 in Overs 31: Steven Smith is off the bowling attack and Shane Watson comes in. England batsmen scramble to add four more runs to their total and keep their hopes alive. A comparatively good over from Australia’s perspective. BATTING: James Taylor 45 (57), Chris Woakes 31 (28)
England 153/6 in Overs 30: Maxwell continues as England get a couple of boundaries in the 30th over. First comes from Taylor’s bat, with a reverse sweep towards the covers. Woakes then hit one on the deep square leg region to keep the scoreboard ticking. England add another 12 runs to their total and go past the 150-run mark. BATTING: James Taylor 43 (55), Chris Woakes 29 (24)
England 141/6 in Overs 29: Both Taylor and Woakes have started to score runs now as they are certainly looking to bring down the asking rate. Another good over for England as they add nine runs off Steven Smith. BATTING: James Taylor 30 (47), Chris Woakes 22 (22)
England 132/6 in Overs 28: Spin from both the ends as Glenn Maxwell continues. Woakes gets a couple of runs through reverse sweep and both the batsmen do well to rotate the strike. Their partnership is of 40 runs now for the seventh wicket. BATTING: James Taylor 30 (47), Chris Woakes 20 (20)
England 124/6 in Overs 27: Steven Smith has been summoned by his captain and he starts off with a couple of good deliveries. Woakes gets one through the fielders at point and short third man, and collects a couple of runs. Taylor ends the over with a four on the midwicket region. BATTING: James Taylor 27 (45), Chris Woakes 16 (16)
England 115/6 in Overs 26: Josh Hazlewood continues and there is an appeal for a leg-before on the third ball of the over. Aaron Finch has spilled a catch at the deep square leg as James Taylor gets a lifeline. Certainly a rare blip from Australia. There is a half-hearted caught-behind appeal on the final ball, and Australia have reviewed it. The replays show the ball just went past the gloves. BATTING: James Taylor 22 (43), Chris Woakes 12 (12)
England 113/6 in Overs 25: The required run-rate is nearing 10 at the moment with Taylor and Woakes at the crease. England have to look for runs now as the asking rate is only going to go up. England score six runs off Starc in the 25th over. BATTING: James Taylor 20 (37), Chris Woakes 12 (12)
England 107/6 in Overs 24: England go past the 100-run mark in the 24th over but they have lost more than half of their side here. Woakes is batting positively, I suppose it’s time for Taylor to try and score some quick runs as well. He’s been around for a very long time now. Eight runs scored off Hazlewood. BATTING: James Taylor 18 (35), Chris Woakes 8 (8)
England 99/6 in Overs 23: George Bailey has deployed Mitchell Starc in to the attack as Australia are looking to end this game very soon. Starc operates with two slips in place. Chris Woakes gets the final ball on the pads and he puts it away for a four. BATTING: James Taylor 13 (32), Chris Woakes 5 (5)
England 94/6 in Overs 22: Chris Woakes has joined James Taylor out there in the middle. The hopes are quite grim from England with that poor show from their batsmen in the top order. BATTING: James Taylor 12 (28), Chris Woakes 1 (3)
England 92/6 in Overs 21.2: SUPERB CATCH! Mitchell Marsh claims his fifth wicket as Steven Smith takes a stunning catch to get rid of Jos Buttler. Smith was standing at short cover and Buttler had really hit it hard. But Smith took a splendid catch as the ball was traveling very fast. Australia are all over England. A Mitchell is rattling England. But it’s not Mitchell Johnson this time around. It’s Mitchell Marsh. BATTING: James Taylor 10 (26),
OUT! Jos Buttler c Steven Smith b Mitchell Marsh 12 (12)
England 91/5 in Overs 21: Jos Buttler and James Taylor looking to rebuild, they are taking a lot of singles. Buttler started off the second over by Maxwell with a reverse sweep for a boundary. England need another runs to win from remaining 29 overs. 10 runs added off Maxwell. BATTING: James Taylor 10 (26), Jos Buttler 10 (11)
England 81/5 in Overs 20: Mitchell Marsh continues and it will make a lot of sense to give him 10 overs on a trot. Or may be at least three more overs. England would be under psychological pressure against Marsh, to start with. Two runs added to the total. BATTING: James Taylor 8 (24), Jos Buttler 2 (7)
England 79/5 in Overs 19: Poor, really poor effort this by England. Eoin Morgan was nowhere in control of the shot, the ball took the bottom edge. Jos Buttler has walked out to bat and he and Taylor certainly don’t have the experience of batting in such high-pressure situations. Glenn Maxwell’s first over gets England six runs. BATTING: James Taylor 7 (21), Jos Buttler 1 (4)
England 73/5 in Overs 18: England are looking to rebuild but they are not trying any quick runs or any sort of counter-attack. Eoin Morgan has not scored run off the first five balls and it seems that pressure has certainly got on him. End of the painful stay. A pull stroke takes an edge and Haddin is brilliant as always. BATTING:James Taylor 5 (19)
OUT! Eoin Morgan c Brad Haddin b Mitchell Marsh 0 (6)
England 72/4 in Overs 17: The streaker’s invasion kept the start of the 17th over a little delayed. Mitchell Johnson continues. The left-arm pacer beats Taylor outside the off-stump and on the fourth ball, Johnson hits the wickets as Taylor was still in follow-through after playing a straight shot. Only two runs scored off Johnson’s over. BATTING: Eoin Morgan 0 (4), James Taylor 4 (15)
Another incidence of streaker invading the field. Twice on the opening day of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015. The first one was at the New Zealand vs Sri Lanka game
England 70/4 in Overs 16: Back after the drinks break. Mitchell Marsh continues as England will be hoping a revival here with James Taylor and Eoin Morgan at the crease. It will be an uphill task for England with the top-order being blown away. Three runs added from the 16th over. BATTING: Eoin Morgan 0 (4), James Taylor 4 (9)
England 67/4 in Overs 15: Two wickets in the last over mean Australia sense opening here and Mitchell Johnson is back into the attack. James Taylor is beaten on the off-stump line and Johnson stares at the batsman. England in deep trouble, they need 277 more runs to win from 35 overs with six wickets in hand. BATTING: Eoin Morgan 0 (1), James Taylor 1 (6)
England 66/4 in Overs 14: Lots of nerves in the middle as well as excitement as Eoin Morgan does well to defend the hat-trick ball from Mitchell Marsh. The all-rounder has put Australia in complete command at Melbourne and England will have to play out of their skins to save this game. BATTING: Eoin Morgan 0 (1), James Taylor 0 (0)
England 66/4 in Overs 13.5: England are falling apart quickly as Joe Root too has departed. Root tried to hit the ball on the leg side but got an edge, and Brad Haddin too a fine diving catch in the deep to get rid of the England batsman. England are collapsing! BATTING: Eoin Morgan 0 (0), James Taylor 0 (0)
OUT! Joe Root c Brad Haddin b Mitchell Marsh 5 (12)
England 66/3 in Overs 13.4: Mitchell Marsh strikes! He bowls a loose one to Ian Bell who is out on a loose stroke! Australia are all over England as they are struggling with the bat as well! Bell hits in the air on the leg side as Mitchell Starc takes a good catch. BATTING: Joe Root 4 (9)
OUT! Ian Bell c Mitchell Starc b Mitchell Marsh 36 (45)
England 65/2 in Overs 13: Mitchell Johnson remains wicketless in the first spell as Shane Watson has replaced him. Watson has the knack of taking wickets out of nowhere and England cannot forget this quality of the seamer. Ian Bell collects couple of runs with an areal stroke on the leg side. England add five runs from the 13th over of the innings. BATTING: Ian Bell 36 (43), Joe Root 4 (9)
England 60/2 in Overs 12: Mitchell Marsh continues as Ian Bell is able to get off the strike on the third ball of the over with a stroke down to the third man. Root tries to pull the third ball, but gets an inside edge and the ball is stopped well by Brad Haddin. The fifth ball is gently pushed on the leg side for a single. Bell continues the good work for his side as the final ball is hit for a boundary. BATTING: Ian Bell 32 (38), Joe Root 3 (8)
England 54/2 in Overs 11: Mitchell Johnson continues as the second ball to Joe Root is a snorter. On the other hand, Ian Bell is batting with a lot of confidence as he hits over the infield on the off side to collect a couple of more runs. The final ball is defended off the back foot from Root. England need 289 more runs from 39 overs with eight wickets in hand. BATTING: Ian Bell 27 (34), Joe Root 2 (6)
England 50/2 in Overs 10: Joe Root has joined Ian Bell in the middle and this is going to be an extremely crucial partnership for England. Both the batsmen can drop the anchor and lead them out from trouble. Fantastic fielding by Steven Smith on the final ball which was thrashed by Bell. Australia have been really good with their fielding. BATTING: Ian Bell 24 (33), Joe Root 1 (1)
England 49/2 in Overs 9.4: Josh Hazlewood has been taken off the attack and Mitchell Marsh has replaced him. Marsh strikes immediately as he gets rid of Gary Ballance, who failed to notice the fielder standing at the short midwicket position! Australia right on top! BATTING: Ian Bell 23 (31) READ: Gary Ballance falls for 10
OUT! Gary Ballance c Aaron Finch b Mitchell Starc 10 (13)
England 48/1 in Overs 9: The second ball in the over had width and Bell hit over the covers for a boundary off Johnson. Bell tries to steal a single by nudging the ball towards gully but Australians are sharp to not allow him that. The final ball was hit well through covers, but Bailey did extremely well to save a boundary. BATTING: Ian Bell 23 (31), Gary Ballance 10 (10)
England 43/1 in Overs 8: Josh Hazlewood continues and this time around he is much more disciplined. Hazlewood maintains a very tight line to the left-hander Ballance. The fifth ball is outside the off-stump and Ballance lets it go, and same is the treatment for the final ball. BATTING: Ian Bell 18 (25), Gary Ballance 10 (10)
England 41/1 in Overs 7: Mitchell Johnson has replaced Mitchell Starc in the attack. The first ball is right on the money, outside the off-stump and a careful Ian Bell lets it go. The fourth delivery is a beauty — angling away from the right-hander very close to the wickets. Bell lets it go through. Three runs taken from Johnson’s first over. BATTING: Ian Bell 17 (24), Gary Ballance 9 (5)
England 38/1 in Overs 6: George Bailey is persisting with a struggling Josh Hazlewood, still no signs of Mitchell Johnson. Ian Bell collects a couple of runs on deliveries continuously bowled on the pads. This time Hazlewood gives width to Ballance, who leans forward to crack a four through the wide gap on the off side. BATTING: Ian Bell 17 (18), Gary Ballance 8 (4)
England 29/1 in Overs 5: Real pace from Mitchell Starc at 149 kmph, as an inside edge off Gary Ballance’s bat races for a boundary behind the wickets. Australia have drawn first blood. Let’s see how England responds. BATTING: Ian Bell 12 (15), Gary Ballance 4 (2)
England 25/1 in Overs 4.4: From the other end, Mitchell Starc continues to bowl a tight line as he has not given any room to the England openers to score runs. Bell takes a single through third man area on the third ball. And Starc strikes! Moeen Ali is out trying to clear the mid-on fielder. The batsman is certainly beaten by Starc’s pace as he was not at all in control of that stroke. BATTING: Ian Bell 12 (15) READ: Moeen Ali falls early in England’s chase
OUT! Moeen Ali c George Bailey b Mitchell Starc 10 (13)
England 24/0 in Overs 4: Brilliant stroke by Ian Bell through the covers for four on the second ball as Josh Hazlewood continues to struggle for line and length against both the England openers. Moeen Ali is not looking to attack at the moment, and so is Ian Bell. The fourth ball has width on offer and Moeel frees up his arms to hit over the infield for a boundary. The last ball is again wide and Moeen slams it for four. Good over for England as they add 14 runs off it. BATTING: Moeen Ali 10 (12), Ian Bell 11 (12)
England 10/0 in Overs 3: An outside edge gets a four to Ian Bell off Mitchell Starc as the fielder at third man is beaten by the ball. Bell then takes a single off the penultimate ball in the over. England need 333 more runs to win from 47 overs. BATTING: Moeen Ali 2 (9), Ian Bell 6 (9)
England 5/0 in Overs 2: It’s Josh Hazlewood with the new ball and not Mitchell Johnson as Australia had declared earlier. The second ball is a wide as England get their first run on board. The fourth ball is a slower one, short and on the leg side as Ian Bell collects a single. Again a wide as Hazelwood fails to adjust line with a left-hander on stroke. The final ball gets another single to England. BATTING: Moeen Ali 2 (8), Ian Bell 1 (4)
England 0/0 in Overs 1: Mitchell Starc starts proceedings for Australia. Moeen Ali on strike. Sharp, short ball to start with. And now he beats the outside edge! Moeen hung out his bat there. No run, timed well by Moeen but right to the fielder. Oh dear, that one struck him on the front pad. Last ball now. Oooh and again beats the bat, wonderful start from Starc! BATTING: Moeen Ali 0 (6), Ian Bell 0 (0)
Steven Finn registered the 8th hat-trick in World Cup history and the first by an England bowler. This is a splendid effort by him as he also completes his five-wicket haul in the tournament opener against Australia. However, a target of 343 runs will be a humongous task for England, especially against Australia at home. Here is Pramod Ananth’s innings report of Australia vs England Pool A match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015
https://twitter.com/Aggerscricket/status/566496383486550017
Australia 342/9 in Overs 50: Excellent effort from Stuart Broad in the deep saves a certain boundary as Steven Finn starts off with another poor bowl. Short and wide. Three runs scored off the first delivery. The second ball, is smashed, for four through covers by Glenn Maxwell. This is Australia’s highest score in ODI cricket against England! Haddin departs on the fourth ball as Broad remains impressive in the outfield. Finn is on a hat-trick as Joe Root too takes a stunning catch in the deep on the second last ball to get rid of Glenn Maxwell. Hat-trick for Finn as Johnson is out! BATTING: Mitchell Starc 0 (0)
OUT! B Haddin c Stuart Broad b Steven Finn 31 (14)
OUT! Glenn Maxwell c Joe Root b Steven Finn 66 (40)
OUT! Mitchell Johnson c James Anderson b Steven Finn 0 (1)
Australia 334/6 in Overs 49: Surprisingly bad bowling from James Anderson as Brad Haddin puts away the first two balls for four. Both the deliveries were short and slow, and Haddin comfortably made room to score easy runs. Anderson then improvises and keeps things quiet. But, not for long. The final ball is smashed for four by Glenn Maxwell. BATTING: Glenn Maxwell 61 (37), B Haddin 28 (12)
Australia 321/6 in Overs 48: Brad Haddin starts the over with a boundary off Start Broad. The fourth ball is atrociously short, and Haddin has all the time in the world to give himself some room and hit it over the wicketkeeper for another four. England are on the floor completely. Broad ends the over with a good bouncer. Another 11 runs added to the total. BATTING: Glenn Maxwell 57 (34), B Haddin 19 (9)
Australia 310/6 in Overs 47: Australia bring up their 300 in the 47th over as they are in charge of the proceedings completely at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The pitch is goof for batting but poor bowling by England in the last couple of overs has not helped them even one bit. Haddin gets into the groove with a fine stroke for four dissecting the field well! With that boundary, Brad Haddin also completed his 3,000 runs in ODIs! BATTING: Glenn Maxwell 57 (33), B Haddin 8 (4)
Australia 299/6 in Overs 46: Glenn Maxwell is on charge at the moment as he hits two boundaries off Steven Finn as he completes his half-century in just 30 balls. What a player and what an innings it is turning out for the Australians. The final ball is again hit for a four. BATTING: Glenn Maxwell 54 (31), B Haddin 0 (0)
Australia 281/6 in Overs 45.1: OUT! Mitchell Marsh is out looking for a six as Joe Root takes a good catch in the deep to get rid of the dangerous batsmen. Brad Haddin must be the new man in. Marsh struck three boundaries in his quickfire innings of 23 off 20 balls. BATTING: Glenn Maxwell 36 (26),
OUT! Mitchell Marsh c Joe Root b Steven Finn 23 (20)
Australia 281/5 in Overs 45: Mitchell Marsh strucks two fours of the first two balls as Australia are inching closer to the 300-run mark. This is Australia’s highest score in World Cup history playing at home. The last ball in the over is again hit for a four, Australia collect 15 runs from the over. England have been peppering Australia with short balls and the batsmen are easily scoring off them. BATTING: Glenn Maxwell 36 (26), Mitchell Marsh 23 (19)
Australia 266/5 in Overs 44: Glenn Maxwell ends the 44th over with a boundary as Australia add another six runs off England pacer James Anderson. BATTING: Glenn Maxwell 32 (24), Mitchell Marsh 12 (15)
Australia 258/5 in Overs 43: Now Mitchell Marsh gets going as he slams one right down the ground for four off Chris Woakes. Glenn Maxwell is hit on the hand on the third ball as he tried to play it on the on side. Another eight runs added to Australia’s total. BATTING: Glenn Maxwell 26 (20), Mitchell Marsh 10 (13)
Australia 250/5 in Overs 42: Stuart Broad comes on to bowl the 42nd over in the innings as England would be looking to contain the Australian batsmen. Maxwell slams the second last ball over the fielder at mid-on. This is his second boundary in the innings. The final ball is again hit for a four, in the same region but with lot more effort. BATTING: Glenn Maxwell 25 (17), Mitchell Marsh 4 (10)
Australia 240/5 in Overs 41: Both Glenn Maxwell and Mitchell Marsh are not looking in any hurry whatsoever. Near the ropes, the injured gang of Michael Clarke and James Faulker is sitting chewing some gums. Three runs added off Steven Finn. BATTING: Glenn Maxwell 16 (12), Mitchell Marsh 3 (9)
Australia 237/5 in Overs 40: Maxwell and Marsh are new to the wicket and they may take sometime to get their eye in. Still, the two right-handers do well to add another seven runs to the total from Moeen Ali’s over. BATTING: Glenn Maxwell 13 (9), Mitchell Marsh 3 (6)
Australia 230/5 in Overs 39: Mitchell Marsh has walked out to bat at the crease with about 11 overs more left in the game. Along with him is Maxwell, and Australia will be eyeing nothing less than 300 runs on this flat deck. Marsh is off the mark with an outside edge off the second last ball, as this is the first run scored in the over. BATTING: Glenn Maxwell 8 (5), Mitchell Marsh 1 (4)
Australia 228/5 in Overs 38.1: George Bailey’s stay at the crease has been ended by Steven Finn as an inside edge goes on to hit the wickets. England bounce back with a couple of wickets now. Australia have now lost both the settled batsmen — George Bailey and Aaron Finch. BATTING: Glenn Maxwell 7 (4)
OUT! George Bailey b Steven Finn 55 (69)
Australia 228/4 in Overs 38: Glenn Maxwell announces his arrival at the crease with a reverse sweep off Moeen Ali for a boundary on the fourth ball of the over. Another good over for Australia as another nine runs have been added. BATTING: George Bailey 55 (68), Glenn Maxwell 7 (4)
Australia 219/4 in Overs 37: The dangerous Glenn Maxwell has walked out to bat after Aaron Finch’s dismissal. Finch and George Bailey were splendid in the middle as they added 146 runs for the fourth wicket. Australia add nine runs from the over but also lose a wicket. BATTING: George Bailey 52 (65), Glenn Maxwell 1 (1) READ: Aaron Finch out after 128-ball 135
Australia 216/4 in Overs 36.3: George Bailey gets to his half-century but there was a run out chance that England missed out on the first delivery, as they could have got rid of the Australian skipper. Fine effort this by someone who was out of form till now. England have become a little sloppy in the field, but their captain Eoin Morgan has got rid of Aaron Finch. BATTING: George Bailey 47 (62)
OUT! Aaron Finch run out (Eoin Morgan) 135 (128)
Australia 210/3 in Overs 36: Aaron Finch takes Australia past 200 run-mark with a fine reverse sweep stroke off Moeen Ali. Finch is looking to be aggressive as Australia will be eyeing a total past 300. The fifth ball is dispatched for a six by Finch over midwicket fielder. The final ball is struck for a boundary. BATTING: Aaron Finch 133 (126), George Bailey 47 (62)
Australia 194/3 in Overs 35: George Bailey mistimes a stroke and the ball lands safely on the leg side between two fielder. It was perhaps a catch for Gary Ballance, who was coming in from the deep. James Anderson certainly is not happy. Australia add another six runs to the total. BATTING: Aaron Finch 118 (120), George Bailey 47 (62)
Australia 188/3 in Overs 34: Chris Woakes comes on to bowl the 34th over as the Australian bowlers are flourishing at the moment. The partnership for the fourth wicket between Aaron Finch and George Bailey is past 100 now, and the batting powerplay is impending. Another good over for the hosts as they add nine runs off it. BATTING: Aaron Finch 118 (118), George Bailey 43 (58)
Australia 179/3 in Overs 33: Australia add three more runs to the total. Decent over by Stuart Broad but England need wickets, drinks break now. BATTING: Aaron Finch 113 (116), George Bailey 36 (54)
Australia 176/3 in Overs 32: There is an appeal for caught behind on the first all of Chris Woakes’ first ball but the umpire is not interested. Australia add three more runs to their total. BATTING: Aaron Finch 112 (112), George Bailey 34 (52)
Australia 172/3 in Overs 31: Australia are riding on Finch’s century and his partnership with George Bailey. Steven Finn’s over gets another seven runs to the Aussies, who will now be looking to step up on the scoring rate. BATTING: Aaron Finch 109 (107), George Bailey 33 (51)
Australia 165/3 in Overs 30.1: Sixth hundred for Aaron Finch in his 42nd ODI as the Australian opener gets a four off Steven Finn’s first ball in the over. Finch jumps in the air to celebrate the feat and then takes off the helmet and shows to the crowd. Fine effort this by Finch who started off on risky note but has done well. BATTING: Aaron Finch 102 (103), George Bailey 33 (51) READ: Aaron Finch completes 6th ODI century
Australia 161/3 in Overs 30: Australian batsmen scramble to add another three runs off the over from Moeen Ali’s sixth over in the innings. BATTING: Aaron Finch 98 (102), George Bailey 33 (52)
Australia 158/3 in Overs 29: Stuart Broad continues but he is not looking as lethal as he was towards the end of his first spell. George Bailey is not looking to take any risk as the batsman plays couple of deliveries straight to the fielders. . BATTING: Aaron Finch 96 (96), George Bailey 32 (50)
